National Conference organized

Two-day National conference entitled, “Recent Trends in Biological and Environmental Sciences (RTBES-2020)” on 16th – 17th January 2020; in association with Botany Department.

Guest lecture organized by Zoology Department

• On 18th December 2019 guest lecture delivered by Dr. Pradeep Mankodi, Department of Zoology, Sayajirao Gaykavad University, Badoda, Gujarat, for B.Sc. and M.Sc. students, on “Applied Zoology”.
• Guest lecture on “Vishwa Shanti” by Prajapita Bramhakumari on 7th October 2019.
• “Paleontology through Philately” by Dr. Ajit Vartak on 21st January 2020.
• Guest Lecture of Dr. R. T. Mahajan on “Research Methodology” at Budding research Scheme Programme for new Incumbents on 13th February 2020.

Extra-curricular activities January

• Celebrated “Wild Life Week” on 1st October 2019, by organizing Rally about animal conservation in collaboration with Jalgaon District Forest Department. Also organized lecture of Mr. Pagar, DCF – Jalgaon District.
• Students of Zoology Department celebrated ZOOMANIA, a programme conducted by students for the students, on 20th September 2019, inauguration by District Chief Forest Officer Mr. Pagar, of Jalgaon district. Also organized “Bio-Mehandi” competition for UG and PG students.
• A tribute to great Indian philosopher and former President of India Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, who believed that "teachers should be the best minds in the country". On occasion of teacher’s day students of T. Y. B. Sc. and M. Sc. celebrated “Teachers Day” on 5th September 2019.
• The students owe to the female faculty members and girl students on occasion of Women’s Day.

Tour

• Industrial Visit to “Vikas Doodh Federation” at Jalgaon with M. Sc. Part I students; to study the handling, milk processing, packaging of Milk products, Quality control of Milk and Milk Products.
• Visit of UG students to Ecological spot “Langada Amba – Forest”, to study the ecology and animal and plant diversity on 6th – 7th October 2019.
• Thirty-six students of T. Y. B. Sc., M.Sc. I and II and four faculty members and one non-teaching member were visit to National Institute “Indian institute of Science” and its department “Biological Sciences” at Bangalore, on 3rd January 2020; under the guidance of Dr. Manojkumar Chopda and Dr. Namrata Mahajan.
• Thirty-six students of T. Y. B. Sc., M.Sc. I and II and four faculty members and one non-teaching member were visit to National Wildlife Park “Bangalore Bannergutta National Park” near Bangalore, on 5th January 2020; under the guidance of Dr. Manojkumar Chopda and Dr. Namrata Mahajan.
• On the occasion of “International Science Day”, visit to National Research Laboratory – “National Center for Cell Science” were organized for students of certificate course “Animal Tissue Culture” and UG, PG, on 28th February 2020.

Budding Research Projects

About five students of UG from the department of Zoology completed projects under the Scheme of Budding Researchers.
Participation of Students in International and National Conferences:
1. Thirty-six students of T. Y. B. Sc., M.Sc. I and II and four faculty members and one non-teaching members were actively participated and presented their research work at 107th Indian Science Congress, held at Bangalore, organized by Agricultural University, Bangalore on 3rd to 7th January 2020; under the guidance of Dr. Manojkumar Chopda and Dr. Namrata Mahajan.
2. Student, of UG and PG were presented a posters and Oral Presentation at National Conference on “Recent trends in Biological and Environmental Sciences (RTBES-2020)”, sponsored by NMU, Jalgaon, Organized by Department of Zoology and Botany, M. J. college, Jalgaon, held on 16th -17th January 2020, under the guidance of Departmental faculty members.

AVISHKAR-2019

• Around Ten students of UG and PG and Ph D Scholar actively participated in District Level Research Festival “AVISHKAR-2019” held on 27th December 2019, organized by Nutan Maratha College, Jalgaon.
