Students :

1) On the occasion of celebration of National Mathematics Day-2019 on 22 December 2019 at KBC North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, 12 students of M.Sc. Mathematics and 4 students of T Y B Sc Mathematics had been shortlisted for competition. Out of these students Mr. Manish Ashok Sapkal got University level first prize in quiz competition from M.Sc.-II. And Miss. Mayuri Sanjay Badgujar got University level first prize in quiz competition from M.Sc.-I

2) Vaibhav N. Nimkhedkar and Gaurav S. Patil (Students of M.Sc. II year Mathematics) have completed a research project entitled on 'On 2-Absorbing Ideals of Commutative Rings' under the guidance of Dr. J. N. Chaudhari and Dr. K. J. Ingale in the scheme of research promotion for budding researchers during the academic year 2016-17.

3) Mr. Chetan V. Mahalpure is one of the participants of a group which has been awarded first prize in state level intercollegiate SCIENCE QUIZE COMPETITION (January 2017) organized by Science Association of Arts, Commerce and Science College, Chalisgaon.

4) Miss ShitalArunPatil of M. Sc. I (Mathematics) and Miss. BagulRohini Sanjay of S.Y. B. Sc. are selected for the training Programme in Mathematics at Centre for Fundamental Studies 'National Institute of Science and Research', Bhubaneswsar from 22 May 2017 to 17 June 2017.

5) Shaikh AatifAhemadNisarAhemad (M.Sc. II year student), PatilPratibhaDevram (M.Sc. I year student), Mangtani Amit Dilip (T. Y. B. Sc. student) won the third prize in a Quiz competition and Patil Prasad Ravindra (M.Sc. I year student) won the third prize in a Oral Presentation Competition organized on the occasion of National Mathematics Day-2014 for both T.Y.B.Sc. and M.Sc. students conducted by Department of Mathematics N.M.U. Jalgaon, on 22 March 2015.

6) Ms. Ankita Jain and Ms. Poonam Shirode (M.Sc. II year, Mathematics) won first prize for the Research Project 'Flow in tubes of linearly varying cross-section with permeable wall' submitted under Research Promotion Scheme for Budding Researchers, December, 2013. This project was guided by Dr. J.S.V.R. Krishna Prasad.

7) Ms. Gurubakshani Poonam ( M.Sc. I year student) won the second prize (Silver Medal) and Ms. Rubina Khan ( M.Sc. I year student) won the third prize (Bronze Medal) in a Quiz competition organized on the occasion of National Mathematics Day-2013 for both T.Y.B.Sc. and M.Sc. students conducted by N.M.U. Jalgaon, on 24 March 2014.

8) Two Students from M. Sc. Sr. Mathematics have completed a research project entitled on 'On co-ideals in Ternary Semirings' under the guidance of Dr. J. N. Chaudhari and Mr. K. J. Ingale in the scheme of research promotion for budding researchers during the academic year 2014-15.

Activities & Reports

1) A guest lecture series was jointly organized by Department of Mathematics, M. J. College, Jalgaon and P.G. college of Science, Research and Technology, Jalgaon on February 15, 2020. The morning session of the guest lecture series commenced with Guest lecture by Dr. DhanjoyDey, Scientist F, DRDO Delhi, on the subject of Topics in coding theory and Cryptography. The afternoon session of the guest lecture series commenced with Guest lecture by Dr. D. P. Patil, Senior Professor, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, on the subject of Field Theory. All the PG students and faculty members of both Department of Mathematics, M. J. College, Jalgaon and P.G College of Science, Research and Technology, Jalgaon, have participated in the guest lecture series

2) Dr. Piyush Chandra, (Retired professor, IIT Kanpur) has given a lecture on ‘Biomathematics’ for TY B Sc, M. Sc. I & II Mathematics students on 20-01-2020 (Monday). About 150 students were present.

3) A one day state level work shop on 'Ring Theory and its applications to Cryptography' was conducted on 7th January, 2017 by Department of Mathematics, M. J. college, Jalgaon. Principal Dr. K. B. Patil, Former Vice Chancellor, North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, was the Chief Guest for the inaugural session of workshop. Dr. Dhananjoy Dey and Dr.Manishkant Dube, DRDO Delhi were the resource persons for the workshop. Around 161 tudents and teachers from various colleges of Maharashtra have participated in the work shop.

4) A national conference on 'Recent Trends in Applied Sciences' was organized in the collaboration with Physical and Computer Sciences during 30-31 January 2015. In this conference Prof. S. K. Nimbhorkar, Department of Mathematics, Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabaed, has delivered an invited talk on Applications of Mathematics in various subjects of Science. Also Prof. Shrikant R. Chaudhari, Professor and Head, School of Mathematical Sciences, N. M. U. Jalgaon, has delivered an invited talk on Fuzzy Sets and Their Application. Around 17 researchers have presented their papers in Mathematics and 32 Mathematics teachers from various colleges from Maharashtra have participated in the conference.
