Earn and Learn Scheme :
This is the unique activity of the College. The financial support is provided under this scheme to the needy students. Such students are expected to render services to the College and in return the honorarium is paid to them. Facilities like free lodging and boarding are also provided to some such students. It is worth to note that many students have taken the advantage of this Scheme and some of them, after completion of their education, have occupied prominent positions like Head Masters, Lecturers and Accounts Officers.
It is a Trust promoted by some of the teachers of the College and an independent hostel is run for needy students of the region. Lodging and boarding is provided in this hostel at a token cost.

Teacher Guardian Scheme :
For facilitating more interaction with students, a specially formed "Teacher Guardian Scheme" is implemented by the Faculty of Commerce. Specific number of students from the faculty is allotted to each teacher who acts as guardian / care taker of these students.

Maharashtra Talent Search Examination (M.T.S.E.) :

The existing school curriculum and the examination system is unable to identify and motivate the "talented students". Therefore, the Competitive Examination Guidance Centre of Ness Wadia College, Pune holds M.T.S.E. Examinations. For this purpose, MTSE body selects various academically reputed colleges as a Regional Centre. MJ College is selected as one of the Centers since the year of inception of this examination.

This program is exclusively for the students of VIIIth and IXth standards. It has been found that, the number of the students appearing for the examination is regularly increasing. This year, for the examination held in April 2002, 2865 students appeared from Jalgaon District and 239 were selected for award of scholarship.

Talent Search Examination in Chemistry :
On the occasion of Golden Jubilee of the College, Department of Chemistry has introduced a new project "Talent Search Examination in Chemistry" for the students of FY.B.Sc. in the region of North Maharashtra University.  The main objective of this examination is to inculcate logical reasoning regarding the subject matter in the students and help them in preparation of various types of competitive examinations.

National Graduate Examination in Physics (NGPE) and National Standard   Examination in Physics (NSEP) :
On behalf of Indian Association of Physics Teachers, Department of Physics conducts National Graduate Examination in Physics from last 14 years. National Graduate Examination in Physics is a gate for National Olympiad Program in Physics leading to participation in International Olympiads.
In 1997-98, Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), a National Centre of Tata Institute for Fundamental Research, Mumbai and Indian Association of Physics Teachers jointly took initiative in starting Physics Olympiad Program. Later on, H.B.C.S.E. extended the program for Chemistry and Biology also. At present, the College is a recognized centre for N.S.E.P., N.S.E.C. and N.S.E.B. Examinations with centre code N-4221.

Learner Centric Teaching & Learning :
In order to make teaching-learning process student centered, participative and thereby more meaningful and effective, following supportive methods and techniques are used:

Centralized ‘media’ centre :
The College has recently established an independent centralized media facility. Available equipments and facilities are as under:

  • Synchro-recorder, L.C.D. Projector, Overhead Projector, Slide Projector, T.V., V.C.R., Laser Printer, CD Writer, Scanner, Photo micrographic Instrument
  • Facilities for preparation of slides and PowerPoint presentation
  • Internet access to "Online Material on different topics"
  • Centralized instrumentation facility with access to all departments in Life Sciences
  • Equipment for development of different sets / kits for practical
  • Majority of facilities is centralized. Some of the facilities like Photomicrography are available in Department of Life Sciences.

Salient Features of MJ College :
The College is located along 21.51 acres sprawling campus absolutely serene such that a student automatically turns himself into learning with full concentration devoid of diversions. There are various elegant buildings accommodating all academic, co-curricular, extra-curricular, extension and sports activities. Independent spacious hostels for boys and girls are provided in the campus. A Master plan of the campus depicting different premises and facilities is enclosed.

Laboratories :
Sophisticated and equipped laboratories with precious and modern instruments like vacuum pump, UV spectrophotometer, Laminar Air flow, B.O.D., L.C.D. etc.

Computers :
We have more than 100 Pentium Machines in four independent Computer laboratories and networking facility and Internet café for student and Staff.

Library :
The beautiful and spacious library building stands just behind the main building of our campus. Our library is host to a massive collection of over 1, 26,259 books. We subscribe to over 200 national and international periodicals and journals. The reading room of the library is well suited to accommodate 200 students. The College library is interconnected for inter library borrowing with other institutional libraries such as:

Book Bank Facility :
It is a tradition of the College to run a Book-Bank scheme with the help of local social organizations and clubs like "Asawa Trust" and "Rotary Club". Every year Rotary Club, Jalgaon donates textbooks worth Rs. 12000/- under this scheme. These books are distributed to the needy students of the College on returnable basis. College provides special Book-Bank facility to the students under the U.G.C. Scheme.

Library Facilities :
In total, the library carries more than 1,26,259 books and about 200 periodicals and provides access to thousands of additional resources via electronic network. A student with identity proof is allowed in Reading Room which is kept open 07.30 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. Undergraduates students are issued one book at a time for seven days. Post graduate students can have two books at a time. If the books are not returned within the stipulate time a fine of Rs. 2 per day is imposed. The library has following facilities for students and faculty:

Hostels/Accommodation :
There is a wide range of furnished accommodation for students in M.J. Boys and Girls Hostels. Hostels provide adequate shared accommodation that is furnished. Hostel admissions are given on merit basis. Repeaters are not admitted to hostels. There is a separate mess for boys and girls. UGC has sanctioned special Grant for extension of Girls Hostel under X and XI plan which has helped to increased the accommodation capacity in the Girls Hostel.

Sports Complex :
The College has a spacious Gymkhana well equipped with all facilities for indoor games like Badminton, Table Tennis, Wrestling, Carrom and Chess. It is worth to note that late Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan (Former President of India) laid the foundation stone of Gymkhana Building in 1959 and the great cricket player Late C. K. Naidu inaugurated it in 1960. Playgrounds - The College has spacious playgrounds for following outdoor games:

The College has recently established a sixteen multistation Gymnasium with modern equipments to the students for improving their physical fitness.

N.C.C. :

National Cadet corp. (N.C.C.) of 250 male cadets attached to 18th Maharashtra Bn. And 50 Female cadets attached to 4th Maharashtra Bn. Our cadet have maintained a tradition of good representation at RD pared in good number every year.

N.S.S. :
National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) where 250 students are actively engaged in community welfare activities like blood donation, campus cleanness and beautification, shram dan, vysan mukti abhiyan etc.

Student's Grevance Redressal Cell :
The College has established students' grievance Cell to solve academic problems and difficulties of students. Students can drop their complaints in Complaint box, which is kept in Library. A separate committee takes cognizance of the complaints every fortnight and does the needful. This has proved to be extremely helpful to the students as well as the Institution. Pollution Awareness :

'No Vehicles Day' is observed on every Tuesday to prevent pollution by vehicles. Student as well as staff members keenly follow the activity.

Students' Council :
As per the guidelines of North Maharashtra University, Students; Council is formed every year. A Class Representative, according to merit, represents each class. This council elects University Representative. Members of student's council participate in activities and working of various committees in College.

Language Laboratory and English Proficiency :
To develop student's proficiency in English communication, they are trained in well equipped computerized language laboratory. Students are especially given training in language skills like listening and speaking where they age an opportunity to improve their pronunciation, conversation, facility of sound recording makes them aware of various errors in pronouncing words. Every year English proficiency courses and workshops are arranged for the students. The thrust area of the courses is mainly English grammar, vocabulary, language skills, soft skills and presentation skills, etc.

Placement and Counseling Cell :
One of the unique features of the college is that, it has a placement cell headed by a placement officer. The prime objective of the cell is to provide employment opportunities to the students who qualify in various undergraduate and post graduate courses. Through this cell, various undergraduate and post graduate courses. Through this cell, various prospective employers are contacted, campus interviews are organized and the students are helped to take proper career decision. The prominent employers who have recruited our undergraduate and post graduate students are Marico Industries Ltd.,Jalgaon, Innovasynth Technologies Ltd.,Mumbai, OIL Ltd, Mumbai, Cipla Ltd.,Mumbai, Leads Chem Pvt. Ltd.,Jalgaon, Asli Health Foods Pvt. Ltd.,Jalgaon, etc. The cell also conducts various training programmes for the students to upgrade their soft skills.

EMDC (Education Media Development Centre) :
The college has recently established an independent Centralized Media facility for preparation of learning / presentation material which is helpful in the process of teaching and learning. Available equipments and facilities in this centre are -
